Andrew Howe was chosen from a short list supplied by Deta, to become an Electrical maintenance engineer, working on very complex filtration systems used sometimes in the food industry, Andrew is enjoying his new found opportunity and should go on to be a very successful engineer.

Portola packaging of Doncaster have chosen a new member of their workforce, Matthew Riley is to be a mechanical apprentice maintaining the vast and elaborate machines used in producing packaging components, he has completed his first year off the job training and is now embarking on his level 3 NVQ in the workplace.

Sean O’Neal is another of our learners that has found himself a very good job with a future at Optima international in Toll bar near Bentley, Sean came to Deta on our unemployed scheme and has been snapped up by Optima who have a history of building the fibres of their company from the ground up which includes Apprentices.

After a successful trial period Global MSI of Carr hill Doncaster have decided to take two new apprentices in their Welding and Fabrication department, this followed a period of time here at Deta 2000 Learning the necessary skills that Global MSI required, Both the trainees Daniel Frost and Ashley Howard started on our unemployed scheme.

Simon joined DETA in January 2000 as a Careership Trainee, having become dis-engaged from the education system at 14 years of age. Local Company Has Maximum Success With Apprentices
The Directors, Managers and Staff of Pegler Limited have supported DETA 2000 since its infancy ten years ago. Margaret Holler Personnel Manager for Pegler is quoted as saying that DETA is always her first choice of training provider and if DETA cannot help her they always know who can. Apprentice plater/welder Neil Simms felt there was no opportunity for training or development in his previous job and he applied to join the apprenticeship training programme with DETA 2000. Michael gained apprenticeship employment with multi-national engineering company Rockware Glass in December 2001. He immediately began his training with DETA 2000, spending approximately 3 months in their training centre working towards his level 2 NVQ in Performing Engineering Operations and five key skills at level 2. Matthew joined the non-employed apprenticeship training programme in August 2004. During this programme Matthew shone above other group members and completed all of his evidence to an extremely high standard, well ahead of his target date. Gavin was already employed by Polypipe when they realised that he had the potential to undertake a Mechanical Maintenance Advanced Apprenticeship.
