Local Company Has Maximum Success With Apprentices
The Directors, Managers and Staff of Pegler Limited have supported DETA 2000 since its infancy ten years ago.
Margaret Holler Personnel Manager for Pegler is quoted as saying that DETA is always her first choice of training provider and if DETA cannot help her they always know who can.
Pegler supported by DETA have an 83% success rate for successful apprenticeship completion compared to a national average of approximately 50%. All apprentices at Pegler are fully supported during their training programme by the allocated programme mentor Shane Jefferson.
On completion of their apprenticeships the individuals are all encouraged to continue their studies and many go on to achieve much more than was originally anticipated.
Ian Cooke and Darren Stromberg started the Advanced Apprenticeship programme in April 2001, they are still employed by Pegler and working towards their Degrees.
Stuart Baynham started the Foundation Apprenticeship at the same time as Darren and Ian and after going to evening classes to re-sit his GCSE Maths Pegler agreed to support him on the BTEC National Certificate programme, Stuart is now working towards his Higher National Certificate.
David Bray started his apprenticeship with DETA in October 2002 having had a bad experience with his previous provider. David had already completed his BTEC National Certificate and Pegler has supported him to complete his Higher National Certificate and Diploma.
Tony Holloway started his apprenticeship in May 2002, on completion of his apprenticeship Tony decided to return to full-time education and he is currently undertaking a degree at Hull University.
Pegler currently have three electrical apprentices on programme with DETA 2000, and they have already indicated that they are committed to a continuous apprenticeship programme.
Pegler have recently shown their continued support to DETA through the donation of £1000.00 towards our training centre refurbishment programme.
