2002/2003 – Level 3 Apprentice Of The Year
Gavin was already employed by Polypipe when they realised that he had the potential to undertake a Mechanical Maintenance Advanced Apprenticeship. Gavin worked hard during his apprenticeship and was determined to gain full-time employment with Polypipe at the end of his apprenticeship programme.
In 2002/2003 Gavin was nominated for the level 3 apprentice of the year award and narrowly missed out on the first place award, at the time Gavin’s words were “I’m having that award next year” and sure enough he did.
On completion of his apprenticeship Gavin’s success was recognised and he was offered not only a full-time mechanical maintenance post but the opportunity to undertake a National Certificate programme at Doncaster College.
Update On Gavin’s Progress
Gavin is just about to complete his Higher National Certificate at Doncaster College, he is still employed at Polypipe and now works as a Technician.
