Christopher Chorlton- Special Achievement Award Winner

Christopher joined the DETA non-employed apprenticeship training programme in August 2004, having completed an Entry 2 Employment programme with YMCA.  Christopher completed his Industrial Applications Apprenticeship and DETA helped him secure full-time employment as a Plater/Welder with Global MSI.

christopher-chorltonChris used the first six months of his employment to develop some basic skills and get into the routine of regular employment.  He then progressed onto the Advanced Apprenticeship programme.  He is now working towards his level 3 NVQ, Key skills at level 2 and the City and Guilds 2800 Certificate in Welding and Fabrication.
